Consumers Pick Odyssey, Pilot as Family-Friendly Choices

While the automotive experts at Edmunds.com are well known for their in-depth reviews of the latest vehicles, the website also makes a point of showcasing input from the folks who live with today’s cars and trucks on a daily basis. That includes those living with the Honda Pilot and Honda Odyssey, which were recently voted as top picks on Edmunds’ “Consumers’ Favorites: Best Family Car” list.
The Pilot—significantly refreshed for 2012—was lauded for its “strong fuel economy and roomy accommodations,” including an EPA line of 18 mpg city/25 mpg highway/21 mpg combined and the ability to swallow up to 87 cubic feet of cargo. It’s also worth noting that Honda has continued to upgrade the Pilot for the 2013 model year by adding Bluetooth technology for both hands-free calling and audio streaming, a rearview camera system, and an intelligent Multi Information Display (i-MID) with eight-inch screen.

In adding the Odyssey to the Best Family Car rankings, Edmunds consumers called out its “highly versatile interior, long list of features and responsive handling,” as well as its best-in-class fuel-efficiency marks of up to 19 mpg city/28 mpg highway/22 mpg combined. Also notable: The Odyssey provides best-in-class safety marks as the only currently tested minivan to earn both Top Safety Pick status from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a 5-star overall vehicle score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
And owners also named both the Pilot and the Odyssey as their segment leaders in the 2012 Autobytel/AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards.
