Honda issued two voluntary recalls to address faulty front door latches and handles. The first affects 166,000 model-year 2012 CR-V compact crossovers and the second involves 6,200 model-year 2013 Acura ILX compact sedans.
According to the automaker, simultaneous operation of the front door handle (on either side) and the manual or automatic lock could break the door handle release cable. If this happens, the door may not latch closed properly or come open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury. Honda says no accidents or injuries have been reported related to this issue.
